Brain Fucked

Through Sept. 13. Various dates and showtimes. $5. Dawson Street Pub, 100 Dawson St. 215.482.5677. www.livearts-fringe.org

A trip to any comic store will tell you that zombies are so over, man. Monkeys have knocked them off the top of the greasy monster pole. Last year the nerdverse was knocked sideways by Marvel Zombies. This fall sees the arrival of Marvel Apes—with all your fave superheroes reimagined as frantically masturbating and banana munching furry beasties. So what better last hurrah to the zom-geist than Zombies Ain’t Shit Theatre’s Brain Fucked, brought to us by a bunch of no doubt incredibly sexually repressed students from St. Joe’s? How badly would this have to suck to not be worth at least $5? Answer: more than it possibly could suck. A new focus-enhancing drug turns American college students into hyperarticulate zombies. Top marks for satire, Zombies Ain’t Shit Theatre, but if you wanna maintain the bell curve, next year we’ll need to see something about a rabid pedo-pope being torn to shreds by a howling mob of Catholic priest-raped and crazed zombie-ape elderly female relatives who won’t vote for Obama because they got an “e-letter thing” telling them he’s a gay Muslim who hates America. So get writing. (Steven Wells)
